Tarasana
Ancient people thought
our body has designed the shape of a star. So they named this posture “Tarasana”,
the meaning is Star Posture. We can practice this posture doing three steps.
Step 01:
Stand comfortably and straightly like first
posture that we have mentioned before in “Dakshasana” and relax. Now raise your
both arms forward and hold them parallel to each other and the floor in line
with the shoulders slowly and softly. Keep your palms facing each other and keep
open your fingers without forcing.
Now try to relax your
mind and body while holding the posture for few seconds. But remember don’t try
to keep it painfully.
Step 02:
Now move your arms to
the sides turning your palms facing to the floor softly and slowly. Your hands
are now in line with the shoulders and parallel with the floor. Hold the
posture while relaxing your body-mind.
Step 03:
After relaxing few
seconds bring your both arms upward facing your palms each other and keep them
parallel to each other. If you find hard to raise your arms all way up due to
the stiffness of your body, keep them holding easy level with your capacity,
without causing discomfort.
After relaxing few
seconds, now start to release yourself from the posture by gently bringing your
arms. And remember, you are free to do this as you wish slowly and comfortably.
After releasing the posture, relax your body-mind further and feel happiness
for few seconds.
Remember:
- Do not hold your breath but always breathe.
- Try to coordinate your breathing, concentration, and movements.
- Always try not to exert jerks in your movements.
- Try to be undisturbed and not to notice what is happening around.
